Did Jesus Teach that his Atonement was limited? No

Let's look again at the teachings directly from Jesus's own words and see if he taught of believed that his Atonement was only for the few (the Elect), rather than the Whole World and\or ALL Men.

We see that Jesus declares the following and he makes note that Judgement is upon this world. and he continues that when he is lifted up he will draw ALL men to himself.

John 12:33-32
31 Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.”

Jesus knows full well he is declaring his Atonement on the Cross, so why would he say he would draw ALL men to himself if his redeeming work was not propitiatory to them all?

As we reviewed Jesus's view on Unconditional Election we saw that when he is lifted up "whoever believes will in Him have eternal life."

John 3:14
14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.

Let's dig a little deeper at to the picture of the serpent in the wilderness, For once again we see that there are conditions that must be made for man to recieive etenal life and that is the condition of Belief\Faith.

This is the same exact process that we see in the picture of the fiery serpents found in Numbers.

Numbers 21:6-9
6 The Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. 7 So the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord and you; intercede with the Lord, that He may remove the serpents from us.” And Moses interceded for the people. 8 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live.” 9 And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.

You see though the Bronze Serpent on the standard could have healed all that were bitten, but there was a condition that had to be fullfilled to be efficacious! They had to look to it.

Jesus on the Cross - Eternal Life - Condition = Belief\Faith

Serpent on the Standard - Life - Condition = Look (Obvously had to have belief\faith to even look

Jesus made a purification of sins.

Hebrews 1:3

3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Jesus the faithful high priest made a propitiation for the sins of the people.

Hebrews 2:17

17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

And John the same writter of the Gospel of John makes it clear that his propitiation was for the whole world.

1 John 2:

2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

Why would anyone even think of Limiting the work of Jesus Christ for the whole world?
